Mourning on command.

And you have to be able to do that.

For we are not so naturally empathetic that we immediately think of victim support after watching this film. Compassion must be inherent, or so the makers seem to believe. And if not, we’ll force it using the American flag. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Excuse me, you are not a resident of the US? Well, then we’ll throw in some understanding women and children. You know, with one of those Gypsy tears.

Ashamed? Not at all. That’s how we always do it. Under the guise of 'in memory'. Uh-h. Yes, there’s quite a lot of money to be made that way. Oops, you meant on someone's back? No, we didn't understand that.

Shall we just keep rambling on about the cinematography then? Yes, please. Maybe a passing grade then? Certainly not.

I make my peace sign in the air and immediately indicate the number of stars.

The sorrow surrounding the death of an American soldier during the war in Iraq, expressed here with a sense of gravity and respect for the escort that will eventually hand over the body to the family, but also with deep sympathy and grief from all who are aware of the event.

Kevin Bacon in the role of the escort holds the entire film in his grip; it is a film that does not leave you unmoved, but in which you can also view the whole solemn and disciplinary business of the army as quite Hippocritical.

A good film in which a Colonel volunteers to escort a fallen soldier home. It is nice to see how the entire repatriation of the remains works, including all the associated protocols. This is portrayed with great dignity. Perhaps a bit monotonous here and there and also very American, but the film is certainly not too long.
