Two teenage girls try with every tactic imaginable to keep their father from divorce and a relationship with his secretary, and to get their mother a lover, so that the father, out of jealousy, would renege on his intention.

After the success of La Boum and Les Sous-Doués from 1980, teen comedies were suddenly very hip in France. Une Glace Avec Deux Boules... tries to take advantage of that. The script was written by director Lara, but the dialogues were often written by young screenwriters in order to obtain a faithful representation of the French youth of the early 1980s.
The southern French city of Carcassonne serves as the backdrop for the beautiful surroundings and thus sets the atmosphere. The story discusses the impact of divorce on children and tries to give it a somewhat comical twist. The young Désirée Nosbusch is rather unsympathetic in her role and is overshadowed by the young Valérie Dumas, who steals the show here.
It is not memorable cinema, but given the short running time it is enjoyable.
