Tunisia, 1942. Two young girls next door and best friends discover that the path of love is not always a bed of roses. Myriam is married off to Raoul, a doctor much older than her. Nour loves her cousin Khaled and would like to marry him. One girl is Jewish, the other Muslim. They live under the German occupier who are trying to get the Muslims to their side by promising them independence.
