Limi is a taxi driver on a quest. She has been trying to find her betrothed Fang Wen after she disappeared from the face of the earth after her disapproving parents broke up with her pending her marriage. For four years, Limi received letters from Fang Wen, all sent to her without a return address. Because she can't forget him, she has pasted pictures of Fang in a magazine so that she can ask every customer who rides in her taxi if they have not seen him anywhere, hoping that one day she can find him. Qiu Shoutian is a petty criminal from Yunnan in the countryside. Together with his partner Qiu Huogui, he arrives in the big city with the hopes of snagging some gold and returning home rich. But at the same time, Qiu Shoutian secretly has a different agenda. He is looking for a girl who has left their hometown to work in the city, the girl he loves and with whom he wants to spend the rest of his life. In this way the lives of five different and unknown people become intertwined...
