Boss of Big Town plot

"BLACK MARKET RACKET! He placed his life on the line...to uncover the sinister power that was racketeering in a big city's daily bread"

During World War II, the respectable city market master Michael Lynn wants to keep the prices of the dairy market in his city clean. Michael must face off against mobster Kenneth Craige, who wants to drive up dairy prices during wartime. Michael seems unable to stop Craige due to sabotage by Craige's gang, which mobilizes local farmers, wholesalers and the corrupt authority Jeffrey Moore. Moore even fires Michael. Then Michael's assistant Bram Hart is murdered. Michael therefore feigns collaboration with Craige to uncover the originator behind the murder and the sabotaging of his work.
