"No one with a badge ever rides back from Diablo!"
Clay O'Mara is a railroad surveyor. His father and brother are murdered by cattle thieves and Clay tries to track them down. Along the way, O'Mara meets Whitey Kincade and befriends him. However, Kincade is paid by dark creatures to kill O'Mara. Corrupt lawyer Jed Ringert and his henchmen make several attempts to kill both O'Mara and Kincade. Kincade is injured in one of the shootings. In the end, it seems inevitable that a bloody confrontation will come between O'Mara, the injured Kincade, and the lawyer.
