Bewitched plot
"SHE LIVED TWO AMAZING LIVES! Darling of Society... Cruel Love-Killer"
Shortly before she gets married, young woman Joan Alris Ellis hears a voice in her head. She flees her small town in the midwestern United States to New York, hoping to get rid of that voice, and she soon has an affair with lawyer Eric Russell. But now she is again bothered by that voice in her head, which even tells her to kill Eric. On the eve of the murder, psychiatrist Dr. Bergson to Joan that she suffers from split personality. For Eric's survival, it will be decisive which personality will prevail in Joan.

Psychological thriller in which a mentally ill woman battles an inner demon. Well acted by Phyllis Taxter, who even gave me goosebumps at a certain point in the finale. Also an excellent role from Doctor Edmund Gwenn who takes on the (unspoken) role of a kind of scientific exorcist.
It is a good script, with the caveat that not much space is given to developing the side characters. The film only lasts a little longer than a duration. At that time you will nevertheless be presented with beautiful visuals that play with light and shadow.
Thematically, it is a progressive film for the Hollywood of that time, where they do not opt for the (rather obvious) horror genre but thriller/drama.
