"A simple story for plain people."
When wealthy Lennox Sanderson says he wants to marry Anna Moore, the latter agrees, unaware that the marriage is fake. When Moore says she's pregnant, Sanderson tells her the truth about their marriage and leaves her. Moreover, when her child dies soon, she is traumatized and does not want to hear about the advances of David Bartlett, who has fallen in love with her in the meantime.
