Don't rush forward. In fact, you spend a long time watching little more than a lifeless western with a posse full of lackluster characters. The runt from The Green Mile doesn't look good with that curly mustache, but at least he's trying something. The rest is completely interchangeable and it just babbles away. Nothing to it. The group is getting smaller, but even that Petty doesn't know how to make much of it. When he finally starts the horror, it doesn't make up for much. Not animals that I will remember for a long time, although I must say that they do have a nice mo. Creepy when you think about it, which is indicative of the fact that this also has little effect in the film.

Very boring.

The Burrowers was one of those films that I only wanted to put on because it was a horror genre. If the playing time is short, such a snack can't hurt, but unfortunately this turned out to be a mistake. I found it quite a difficult film to get through that shows some potential in the opening, but then mainly descends into utter dullness.

In terms of cinematography, the film has some nice filters and shots of actors, but unfortunately that's about it. The location is used in a very boring way and the camera work during the horror scenes is too bad for words. The monsters are depicted very poorly, probably to disguise the fact that the designs are not impressive at all.

Furthermore, they try to tell a serious story with some themes in between, but it didn't really bother me that much. The characters are very boring, and the cruelty against Indians must be a central element throughout the film. Unfortunately, it was nowhere shocking or compelling. Actually, it's just boring and I couldn't get into it anywhere.

It all works towards a premise that is still original in some way, but the additions of paranormal elements with the monsters and heavy themes only prove to be superfluous. The film can simply be called a mess. The fact that the film has few events in between does not exactly help the end result.

A very boring film that, despite its relatively short running time, feels like a 4-hour film. I almost couldn't get through it, and I also let out a cry of relief afterwards. This is a film that I quickly check off my list and then quickly move on, looking for more interesting, better horror films that are worth watching.
