The Informant plot
"Even freedom has its price."
After five long years in captivity, IRA member 'Gingy' wants to stay out of trouble for good and turns his back on the feared terrorist organization. However, the IRA still needs him for one very last assignment. Pressured by the IRA, which threatens to kill Gingy's family if they refuse, he carries out his very last job. After the successful attack, he flees but is accidentally recognized by a British soldier. In no time he is arrested and ends up behind bars. The British army and the Northern Irish police, led by the tough Chief Inspector Rennie, offer him a choice: life in prison or freedom in exchange for the betrayal of the IRA top.
