Semi-autobiographical film about John Boorman's own memories of the first year of the war. Not a top film, but quite interesting as a picture of the times. Here and there also subtle humor, such as the postman who comes to collect the mail in the crooked mailbox shortly after a bombardment. And "Thank you, Adolf" when the school is hit by a direct hit.

Good film about a boy growing up in London during the Second World War. Not really a story, but more the daily life of a family on the home front in which the man is away from home as a soldier. Despite the subject certainly not too heavy of material, but more with a sense of nostalgia. The whole decoration of the film is also fine.
