The year is 2306. Twelve years have passed since Captain James Kirk was swept away by the Nexus while trying to save the crew of the Enterprise-B. Unfortunately, a year later, Commander Montgomery Scott was also reported missing along with the passengers and crew of the USS Jenolen, of which no trace has been found to this day. The remaining crew of the USS Enterprise have each gone their separate ways. Captain Spock and Doctor McCoy have spent the last few years on Khitomer, continuing their work to promote peace between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. It is in itself a small miracle that these two can live together in peace. And Captain Hikaru Sulu and his Excelsior crew are on an extended mission beyond the outer limits of the Alpha Quadrant...
