Does his progressive worldview hold up in this rapidly changing society, or does Tom become as bitter as his sour grandfather?

Jan Verheyen and the real Antwaarps Theater about serious things like racism and euthanasia, that's how you can describe 'Los' in one sentence. A sharp portrait of the failed multi-cure society in Antwerp, city of Vlaams Belang, only Verheyen does not dare to go far enough at the right moments. Pepijn Caudron and Koen De Graeve play wonderfully natural in contrast to the Pakistani Sana Mouziane, who even speaks her broken Flemish very woodenly. Caudron's monologues in which he explains the story more and gets used to the camera feel a bit strange, but all in all this is a nice Flemish film, without balls. 2*

Jan Verheyen pleasantly surprised me. After the good "Dossier K", now the earlier, also very solid "Los".

Without impressing too much, this comedy/drama is presented with in the background situations of immigration, integration, racism and the laws (or non-laws) surrounding it.

After seeing "Los" people are not burdened by serious problems, but you have still got a few things explained in a "loose" story with pretty good actors.

Actually a more than decent book adaptation of the book by Tom Naegels that is actually about everything and nothing, but above all has many loose ends. Jan Verheyen did succeed in producing a smoothly cohesive film with a mix of humor, drama and romance. Also nice to see the character Tom speak into the camera and get the idea to put his "adventures" in a book when it turns out that he is actually too soft to be a reporter in the hard journalistic world.

Tom is a character whose life is turned upside down by his grandfather's illness, his status at work, his relationship crisis and his hormone shop going haywire. In addition, Tom addresses social and ethical dilemmas such as the multicultural society and euthanasia. Los has a fresh and playful approach to work with these subjects. Take an excellent cast, in the first place, with Caudron himself, but also Jaak Van Assche, Stany Crets and Koen De Graeve. The humor is more than ok and is therefore certainly successful. The scenes with those Vlaams Belangstemmers are great.

Pretty pleasant surprise this Los. Not world-class, but pleasant print that never bored me. Nice!
