The Loves of Edgar Allan Poe plot
"Surpassing his startling stories of dark emotions, comes the true drama of his own life and tempestuous loves!"
Edgar Allen Poe had an unhappy childhood, broken by his foster mother, Frances Allan, whose love for him fueled his desire to become a writer. His first love was Elmira Royster, who married another while at the University of Virginia. He could not forget her and under her influence, he wrote with the passions of his heart. After a lesser period, he found love again and won the heart of Virginia Clemm. After he and Virginia married, Poe wrote his best work for the Southern Literary Messengar and Graham's Magazine.
