Le Pull-over Rouge plot
A little girl of nine, Elisa Garcia, is taken by an unknown person and found murdered about twenty kilometers from Marseille. The victim's young brother and several other witnesses say the perpetrator was wearing blue trousers and a red sweater and was driving a Simca 1100. Coincidentally, on the day of the kidnapping, Christian Ranucci, a young traveling salesman, has an accident with such a car not far from where Elisa's body was discovered. Frustrated by their failures in previous cases, the police officers quickly investigate and arrest the young man. All possible evidence that could exonerate him is covered up and everything that could make him suspicious is used against him. Christian Ranucci is sentenced to death in court.
