Guarding Eddy plot

Eddy is a mentally retarded boy with a weakness for sports. Mike is a talented basketball player with a bright future. The two run into each other at a homeless shelter, where Mike is doing community service. Eddy ended up there after being kicked out of the house by his father. The two become linked and when Eddie gets into a car accident one day, Mike takes him in. A special friendship develops between the man who can only dream of a professional career and the man who almost let this dream slip through his hands.
