Forty Little Mothers plot
Unemployed professor Gilbert Jordan Thompson is offered a temporary job by a befriended former colleague to teach at an exclusive girls' school. But developments soon work against him: he finds the abandoned toddler of Marian Edwards, who later turns out to be suicidal, whom he takes under his wing. This, despite the school rules, which state that a teacher is not allowed to have a family. The girls at the school oppose the replacement of their handsome and popular teacher Thompson and do everything in their power to prevent him from being fired.
