Reign of the Gargoyles plot

In the aftermath of World War II, an American air force is sent on a simple mission. However, for unknown reasons, the mission ends in total disaster. A small unit is sent out to find the truth, but is itself attacked by strange flying creatures and their plane crashes. The survivors regroup and are rescued by a resistance fighter, who tells them they have been attacked by a race of Gargoyles. The Gargoyles, created hundreds of years ago through black magic and pagan rituals, were brought back to life by the Nazis. Pursued by a Nazi army, a race against time begins in a desperate search for a sacred sword that possesses the power to destroy the Gargoyles.
