Night Train plot

Chloe (Leelee Sobieski) is a college girl who at first glance appears to be quite normal. God what a movie. One of the first times Leelee disappointed me. I didn't think Zahn was beautiful either, just like with the last film I saw of him -A perfect getaway- it wasn't believable enough. I didn't find any scene interesting or exciting. Now it may be because I was not already concentrated and relaxed into the film, but usually a (good) film ensures that I can change my mind and go into it. That was definitely not the case with this film. Actors may be more famous, but even they couldn't make anything out of this film.

The film looks a bit clumsy in terms of setting and cinematography, but the cast is decent and the story is well thought out. Especially because you wonder how the fork is in the stem you keep watching, but otherwise it is a fairly mediocre and cheap-looking film.

Pretty cool.

A film limited to one location and with rather grotesque characters. Bold clichés, in which the film itself is also bathed in a stylish fake haze. Clearly not a film for fans of realism.

There is not much material, so King supports more or atmosphere and the mystery of the box. That looks pretty good. The limited budget is noticeable (the outdoor scenes, the interior, the somewhat flawed details) but King actually handles it all well, just because the rest of the film is also thick enough.

That's why the trio is doing quite well. Not great acting, but they give the characters the right swing. The story is nothing special, but the mystery works, the characters are fun and the style is extremely effective. I wasn't expecting much in advance, but I was very pleased with it.

3.5*
