Cambio de Sexo plot

José Maria is a seventeen year old boy and his father is a successful restaurant owner in a small town a short distance from Barcelona, in Spain. The boy is intelligent and sensitive, but his mannerisms and habits, and his lack of 'manliness', lead to him being bullied a lot at school. The school principal thinks José is a disruptive influence and asks that he be removed from the school. The father resents the boy and his mother for not being a hot-blooded young man and sends him to a friend in the countryside. One day, the father visits the boy and takes him to a strip club in Barcelona, run by a friend of his, thinking that his son will be "cured" of his sexual reservations there.
