In 1985, with his film school diploma, Will Allen became a member of "The Buddhafield", a spiritual group based in the Los Angeles area. As the group's official videographer, he began recording their activities, which focused on the mysterious leader they called Michael, the Master. Over time, as utter devotion turned to paranoia, the dark side of the group began to surface, until finally unexpected truths about their enlightened leader were revealed. Now, for the first time since leaving the group, Allen focuses the camera on himself and asks ex-cult members to tell us about their pasts and the incredible cheating they've experienced...
