Das Brot des Bäckers plot
In the autumn of 1971, Werner Wild started working as an apprentice at the sympathetic baker George Baum in the Bavarian village of Hersbruck. He learns all the tricks of the trade and is warmly welcomed into the family and the village. When a supermarket opens its doors in the village, a real struggle for survival begins. Werner and George battle the cutthroat competition, but see more and more farmhands disappearing to the big city.
