La León plot
The Delta of Paranà in Argentina. Alvaro leads a modest and lonely existence in a labyrinth of rivers and streams. Fishing and reed cutting are his only source of income. In this remote region, he is considered an outsider due to his homosexuality and his love for books. The only link between the island and the city on the mainland is 'El León', skipper El Turu's boat, which takes residents there and back once a day. El Turu is a rough and sometimes aggressive guy, who is convinced that Alvaro represents a threat to the remote island and its values and virtues. Moreover, since he considers himself the undisputed ruler of this world, he is determined to impose his values.
