When Charlie Paczynski's dark-haired partner is caught in a blackmail deal gone wrong, he follows the suspect to the outskirts of Niagara. There he receives a cryptic warning: "You will not understand what is happening here". Charlie then sets out to find a long-lost design by the enigmatic genius Nikola Tesla. But the closer he gets to solving the mystery, the higher the stakes become.
