Boulevard des Assassins plot
Charles Vallorba is a disillusioned writer who flees to an apartment in a southern French provincial town after a failed marriage. A phone call, intended for the previous occupant, awakens the journalist in him and puts him on the trail of a local political scandal.

Intellidrama, which degenerates into a simpler story. From the spirit of the times more would have been possible, given French films from the same period. The whole is rather dull, although the film opens strongly. Trintignant plays characterfully but too one-sided, the same goes for Lanoux. Pisier is a pleasant appearance. Too bad... some depth would have done the film good.
