"In a world of wife swapping, drugs and chocolate covered lobsters, murder seemed so uncivilised."

An elderly millionaire and his young wife arrive in Kenya in the 1940s, where they find the British living there thriving as the homeland gears up for war. They switch partners, use drugs, and throw wild parties. The young woman begins an affair with one of the bon vivants. Her husband finds out and confronts the young couple about it, with all the consequences that entails.
