Juste avant la Nuit plot
Charles Masson, a director of an advertising company, has an affair with Laura, the wife of his best friend François Tellier, an architect. When one of their sadomasochistic games gets out of hand, Laura is accidentally strangled. While the police struggle to solve this murder case, Charles struggles to return to a normal life with his wife and children.
