Planetary plot

"Reconnect to something bigger."

The experience many astronauts have when they see the Earth from a distance for the first time: an intense revelation of the smallness of man in the bigger picture. The realization that our planet is one big whole, an extraordinary environment in which everything that lives is connected. In 'Planetary' Guy Reid transfers this experience to the big screen. Images from around the world show not only the beauty of our globe, but even more the fact that the interconnectedness of everything that lives on Earth is something we must protect. For while the astronauts cherish this intense sensation, this fundamental realization does not really penetrate to us humans with our feet on the ground.
