FC Barcelona Confidential plot
Barcelona, one of the largest football clubs in the world, was virtually bankrupt with a debt of 250 million euros. The football team was humiliated on the field and hadn't won anything major in four seasons. The club had fallen into disrepute, with corruption allegations circulating after years of decadent mafia-style management. A group of people in their thirties, including dotcom millionaires, lawyers and other professionals, led by Joan Laporta, decide to take over FC Barcelona. The documentary tells the story of Laporta's first year at FC Barcelona from the inside out. His dramatic victory in Barça's unique election, the first crisis (a clash with David Beckham), the successful signing of Ronaldhino, the complete reorganization of the club (from football team to office staff) and clashes with outraged supporters.
