Mila Kunis - voted 'sexiest woman in the world' by FHM in 2013 - plays a mother who:

- is married to a loser;

- had only one sex partner in her life;

- quickly loses interest from men because of the clumsy things she says. Conclusion: Mila Kunis is completely unbelievable as the 'bad mom'. and this miscasting doesn't do the comedy any good. Apparently someone in Hollywood has come up with the genius idea of reviving the equally dubious Grown-Ups franchise, but with women. Of course something like this can work, but not with a superficial, predictable and above all unpleasant scenario. The kids are annoying, the dialogues between Kunis and David Walton [who plays her husband] utterly ridiculous and who would have thought Kelly Bundy could become the dictatorial chairperson of a parent council? The film is more like a series of video clips in which mothers really 'get out of the pantyhose' and attempts at jokes. And yes, there is an extremely forced and moralizing happy ending. This is further underlined in the extremely amusing epilogue, in which we candidly talk about their mother/daughter relationship with their own mothers. Had they filled 90 minutes with that, this would undoubtedly have been a nicer, more engaging film.

“Are you trying to get laid or adopted?”

After a lot of 'serious' films I was gradually ready for something lighthearted. In that respect, I am satisfied with this comedy. It is of course not top notch, but despite the cliché story, I thoroughly enjoyed myself thanks to the sometimes hilarious dialogues. Watch out for Kathryn Hahn's one-liners!
