Ôoku plot
O-oku is a colorful palace drama set in 1713, when Japan is ruled by the only five-year-old Shogun. While popular culture is thriving in Edo, the palace is still governed by the old manners and the women are in charge. Among them are Teneiin, the widow of the previous Shogun, and Gekkouin, mother of the young Zitugu. The palace falls under the spell of intrigue between the two women who want to harm each other in order to gain power over the shogunate.
