This film consists of eight short stories, which a bookseller (Aldo Fabrizi) envisions as he reads them. In "Ballo Excelsior" a ballet dancer makes the hearts of a number of spectators beat faster. In "Meno di un Giorno", the early love happiness between Matilde and Camillo is cruelly disrupted by a three-hour train delay. In "Il Tamburino Sardo", a drummer becomes the unexpected hero on the battlefield. In "Questione d'Interesse" two farmers argue over a compost heap. In "Idillio", two very young people fall in love. In "Pot-pourri di Canzoni" different music styles are played. In "La Prova di Frine" Mariantonia, who has been accused of murder, is defended by an eccentric lawyer and in "La Morsa" a man pushes his wife to the limit.

Altri Tempi is a phenomenal 8 story narration that is exceptionally well laid out. The film is told very beautifully and the story alone already has a nice structure. Lollobrigida is doing quite well with actor (and also director) De Sica. They show a very strong performance. The decoration is beautiful, especially what Lollobrigida was wearing here on the poster looked quite magnificent. The rest of the whole movie is also perfecto, perfecto music, perfecto storytelling, perfecto camerawork and so on. Only some roles (of which actors I don't know) were not great. That could have been better for me. But the rest of the movie is totally perfect. 4.5.
