Still somewhat civilized film within the giallo genre: although the exhibition of the partially burned corpse is still somewhat bizarre, it is one of the most beautiful scenes in the film.

Entertaining thriller in which retired Milland helps his colleagues to search for the identity of the murdered lady and for the perpetrator.

Heap of fat blubbery male perverts to give it the desired rancidity.

And yes!!! Amanda Lear sings two songs on the soundtrack!!

What a special, strange movie! It looks like a giallo, but the film has too few gory scenes and kills for that. The film revolves around a murder mystery and gradually this flows into a kind of arthouse drama. The story is a bit bumpy to follow as the narrative is built upwhich you might not see in the have holes. But as a whole, it does become clear as the film progresses and the loose ends do eventually tie up.
Ray Milland plays the somewhat grumpy elderly inspector on return who wants to solve this case together with Inspector Ramsey ( Ramiro Oliveros ) and other agents. Dalila Di Lazzaro (Linda) is the protagonist who plays a very mysterious role where her character traits are gradually revealed. She can be seen naked a few times and especially the last scene where she shares the bed with three men lingers and gives a bad feeling. Her husband is played by Antonio ( Michele Placido ) and Roy ( Howard Ross) is her boyfriend. But old candy Mel Ferrer as a professor also has a crush on the beautiful Linda. Of course, these three gentlemen belong to the circle of possible perpetrators. The choice of music is also special. Certain scenes make quite strikingly odd choices of sound and there are also two songs by Amanda Lear. The typical close-up images of faces are also applied, which also gives a certain effect. Also not to be forgotten is the very curious sequence scene of the dead body as art where many people in a museum view the artwork through a row. The director clearly has a lot of attention for those people who are interested in the bizarre artwork of a deadly body. There is a lot to tell about this remarkable film that you can only taste if you let the film sink in for a while. 7/10
