2 Days in Paris plot

"He knew Paris was for lovers, he just didn't think they were all hers."

French photographer Marion and American interior designer Jack live in New York and decide to rekindle their relationship by going on vacation to Europe. The trip to Venice didn't turn out so well, so now all hopes are pinned on Paris. But Marion's parents (who don't understand a word of English) and Jack's obsession with photographing every famous Parisian tombstone seems to get things going here too.

The contrasts between "New-York" and "Paris" are enjoyable. Of course the level from the beginning can't be maintained, but over the entire duration of the film I often enjoyed the funny replies.

Julie Delpy and Adam Goldberg act strangely.

Just two days in Paris is apparently still too long to spend with these exhausting characters. What an endless chatter. Don't expect Before Sunrise-like romantic vicissitudes, despite the more or less identical theme and the presence of Julie Delpy. This is more Woody Allen in terms of atmosphere, mainly due to Adam Goldberg's endless lamentation (who is on a roll here, by the way), but without the quirky ironic humor. Everything here is simply either too bland or too far-fetched. The main drawback, however, is that the characters are not sympathetic and barely appeal to the imagination.

I saw the movie on DVD this week at home. Lots of laughs anyway.

I thought the role of Adam came out more than that of Julie, sometimes I thought her acting was rather exaggerated.

Especially the scene where they eat rabbit with Julie's parents and try to have a conversation is hilarious.

Too bad a lot has been deleted in the comments ??

For people who feel a bit moody, this film is a must.

I give 4 stars.
