Le Jardin des Supplices plot
In 1926 a French doctor has to move to Canton (China) because of his drug addiction. He meets a mysterious woman on the ship. A strange love, where hatred and mutual contempt are confused, will henceforth unite these two beings. She leads him to the Garden of Tortures, a monstrous invention, where sadistic orgies take place. There, two corrupted and damned civilizations are confronted: that of traditional China and that of colonizing Europe. Suddenly, communist troops invade the city...
