Mystery thriller from the UK stable and from the 50s. Rarely a disappointment.

Smoothly constructed, a generally acceptable plot with Hitchcock links (the man with the pipe on the bridge who ultimately has nothing to do with it), the necessary twists that make it interesting and the neat quality of the images is certainly to be appreciated.

Enjoyable to follow. That there is something completely different behind it than initially assumed, was to be expected, and that the correct sequence is released bit by bit to end in a rapid (fortunately not a clichéd and annoying minutes-long chase) certainly contributes to this.

Reasonably intelligent 50's Thriller with pleasant acting by Leughton and Justin, who shows some resemblance to the later Hugh Grant in the first half hour. The whole is a cross between mystery and thriller, where the plot is well worked out at the end. Too bad Hitcock didn't make this, there was much more to get out of it.
