I watched both "Grand Blond" movies back to back. This one is funny at times, but the element of surprise is gone, the connection to the "James Bond" films is a flop, and the whole thing is dull and barely interesting.

A “Return” is usually difficult.

Pierre Richard, however, remains a remarkable comedian who certainly has his place in the French film world.

Pierre Richard belonged to the new generation of French comedians in the 1970s, following in the footsteps of Louis De Funès and Bourvil. He was generally a pretty good comedian, with hits like La Chèvre, Le Coup du Parapluie, and Je suis timid mais je me soigne. This film was a sequel to Le Grand Blond, which made him famous. But what lame humor this time, even Richard can't handle it. It's an early James Bond parody... But I think Johnny English and Kingsman are much better than this... Fun fact: these films had an American remake starring Tom Hanks The Man with One Red Shoe (1985) - MovieMeter.nl

Part 2, with little new compared to the first part. But on the other hand, it does feature the same cast—apparently everyone thought it was worth seeing again.

The farce is perhaps a little more entertaining than the first part, and the jokes are perhaps a bit more effective. Besides, Mireille Darc is wearing almost the same dress again, though it's a bit less attractive. And that scene is also the best part of the whole film.
