Lásky Mezi Kapkami Deste plot
Karel Bursík, called Kajda as a child, thinks back to his childhood in Prague-Zizkov. His father, shoemaker Vincenc Bursík, moved there with his wife and three children to escape poverty in the countryside. He soon throws his daughter Vera out of the house when it turns out that she is having an affair with a married man. The shoemaker faces strong competition from the Bata factory nearby and sends Kajda off to sell his mother's dresses.
