Fresa y Chocolate plot
On the terrace of an ice cream parlor, Diego, the artist, falls head over heels for David, the utterly macho student. David doesn't like a physical approach at all, but he does become intrigued by Diego's preference for foreign liquor, Maria Callas, forbidden literature and subversive art. All of this is curious enough for Diego to report to the authorities, which David briefly considers, but his fascination with David wins. In addition, Diego's knowledge of Cuban literature is extensive, which reassures David. Despite everything, Diego must also be a patriot. David's suicidal neighbor who initiates him into love. Despite everything, a pure friendship gradually develops between Diego and David, resulting in a mutual respect. Respect for dissenters and those who feel, something that was impossible in Cuba for years (and often is still impossible).
