Anthony (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is a heroin-addicted police officer and no one likes him. After an attempt on his life, he falls into a coma, from which he awakens a better person. Now he wants to right all the wrong things he's done.

Great movie with lots of action and drama.
I had already noticed a combination that suits Van Damme very well in films like Nowhere to run, Timecop and Wake of death to name a few.
You could split this movie into 2, before and after Anthony's coma, of which I liked part 1 better. The wrong street cop on drink and drugs.
It is useful to know that there is a big difference in the American and European version of the film. Especially from the scene towards the end where Anthony and Callaghan point the guns at each other, the ending in both films is completely different. A bath and a happy ending you might say. Looking for both versions is therefore recommended.
It was a pity that the film is not a 100% American production, but partly Bulgarian. A lesser quality in the selection of actors and film locations is noticeable in my opinion.
But overall a great movie to have seen from our (I'm Belgian) JCVD

JCVD in the 21st century is an absolute must. The man is improving after several years of silence on the silver screen. In terms of story it is of course quite standard, although that is allowed for this genre. But this time Van Damme shows that he can also act somewhat and provides action film as it should be. Furthermore, you should not analyze this kind of film further, but just enjoy it!

Disappointing film in which a drug-addicted cop wakes up from a coma and wants to set everything right. A rather messy story and sometimes a bit messy editing where a better introduction of the characters would not have been wrong. Jean-Claude van Damme is not even that bad in an atypical role for him in which there is very little fighting.
