I am surprised that nothing has been written about this film yet. If you read the brief description, you would think you are dealing with a horror film. The devil, strongly played by Ray Milland, operates much more subtly by corrupting an honest politician who finally gets the opportunity to put a corrupt man behind bars and, as a result, even make a bid for the governorship. The big problem, however, is that the evidence was not obtained legally; in this way, the devil can continue to blackmail and corrupt him until it is almost too late.
The film plays well on the concept of good and evil in relation to politics and power.
