The End of the Affair plot

"–or just the beginning?"

England, 1939. Sarah Miles is married to the dull Henry Miles. To escape the rut, she embarks on a passionate love affair with writer Maurice Bendrix. But during a bomb attack on London, Bendrix is seriously injured. Sarah abandons him without any explanation. Overnight their secret relationship comes to an end, leaving Bendrix embittered. Several years later, on a rainy, gloomy evening in 1946, Henry Miles and Bendrix meet again.
