Gyakufunsha Kazoku plot
The Kobayashi family finally gets the chance to swap their small apartment in Tokyo for their dream home in an upscale suburb. But not everything goes as they hope; the house is infested by termites and the family is slowly going crazy. His son Masaki's studies become an obsession and he loses his mind. Daughter Erika pays no attention to anything except her audition for a record company. Grandfather Yasukuni suffers from World War II flashbacks and Father Katsuhiko is so concerned about his family's "illness" that he sees a joint suicide as the only solution.
