Laissez-Passer plot
The film follows the turbulent lives of two figures in the French film industry during the German occupation: dissident screenwriter Jean Aurenche and assistant director and resistance hero Jean Davaivre. The Nazis had a tight grip on the French media, but the film industry pretty much left them alone.
