Robert and Beth Bordon are married, but have little in common. Then Robert meets Sally at a cabaret, and before long the Bordons are separated. But he quickly becomes bored with Sally's superficiality, and in the meantime Beth does everything she can to improve her appearance. The old couple falls in love again while staying at a holiday resort.
