Outdated slow slow movie. Long annoying pieces, in short, not a topper for me. Vote too high in my opinion. 2.0 for me.

And that's one of the last stacks of 70's classics I'd never seen before. Sam Peckinpah with a kind of pitch black road movie through Mexico, where we are hunting for the head of Alfredo Garcia. Easy job, because our main character, Alfredo has just passed away tragically, but Sam Peckinpah can also apply his famous slow motions here.

A special film, for sure. Shine role for Isele Vega, from Oates I'm not so sure - he does a good job, but I wonder if he was the perfect man for this role. The story is rather atypical, probably meant meta, but in the end I couldn't do much with it. Maybe watch it more often. At the 3rd time I noticed for example that the bus with tourists was at the beginning at Bennie's bar and later showed up again just before the shootout with the family and the 2 gentlemen / ultra bad guys ... The Time Magazine with Nixon on the cover also caught my eye.

And it seems to me that 'Guantanamera' was also chosen deliberately... I am an honest man / From this land of palms / And before I die I want / To share these poems from my soul...

The slomos are often very efficient and beautifully applied. Come on, a small 7 for now.
