Typically one of those golden oldies that seems to have been completely forgotten.

"I think this is our dance, mother”."

Although super-sentimental and stereotypical Hollywood, it's actually an ending you've been waiting for for the last half of the film,
completely in line with the Dutch title at the time: "“Your mother heart speaks”."
A rather pathetic story, but there is nothing wrong with that in its time, I think. Especially if you place it in the time when the film was made (shortly after World War II). In addition, excellent acting by Olivia de Havilland, which was rewarded with an Oscar. Not much has been heard of her co-star John Lund in the film world since then.

Good drama about a woman who has to give up her child due to unfortunate circumstances. de Havilland plays her role very well, but the film has to get going first and that takes a while.
