Knokken voor Twee plot

12-year-old Freddie runs away from home because he thinks he is the reason for the many marital quarrels. He goes into hiding in a clubhouse of children of divorced parents. The clubhouse has to be torn down and the children are looking for a new home. They enlist the help of the puppeteer Walter. Unfortunately, he initially comes up with unfeasible suggestions for a new clubhouse. Actions are even taken at the municipality on the advice of a feminist mother.
