Karen Stone, 50, plays Rosalind in a performance of "As You Like It." When a try-out reveals that she is much too old for the role, she leaves the production 'due to health problems' to travel to Rome with her ailing husband Tom. When Tom dies of a heart attack during the trip, Karen tries to use her time in Rome to work through her grief. But a wealthy middle-aged widow makes her the perfect target for Contessa Magda Terribili-Gonzales, who uses gigolo Paolo to extort money from the vulnerable Karen.
