"The first casualty of war is truth"
Estonia, 1944. We trace the events from the battle of the Tannenberg line to the battle of Tehumardi on the Sõrve peninsula between the Germans and their allies and the Red Army. We see everything through the eyes of Estonian soldiers, who had to choose a side and thus encountered their own compatriots on the battlefield as an opponent. The soldiers and their loved ones often have to make difficult choices.
